Magazine drafts

These are y front cover and contents page drafts, my double page spread is still being worked on. However I am proud of what I have made so far, and due to me still having a week left there's a lot I can still improve on.

Magazine publishing

I would choose to go with Bauer due to it being more suitable for my magazine. IPC is a bigger publisher but they specialise more in women's and country magazines, where as Bauer publish more music magazines such as 'Empire, Kerrang and Q'. This means that they would know more about publishing music magazines and would do a better job with my magazine. Bauer also publish big radio stations such as 'Kiss, Magic and The Box' so they would have an even better idea on the whole music scene and which music attracts which audience.

This is my analysis of a double page spread out of a 'Q' magazine.

Ideas

These are four ideas I was looking at for y magazine, they all look the same due to this being what I want my magazine to look like. I chose this because its a good way to grab the attention o the audience with a single picture in the middle of the front cover having eye contact with the audience.

Research on magazine

The genre of my magazine is going to be pop. Due to it being a pop magazine I have decided to call it 'Popsicle', I have decides to price it at £1.99 on a weekly basis, I have priced it quite cheaply due to it being aimed at a young audience which is why I have decided to use bright colours. Also because is aimed at younger people I have a feature where you can email or tweet the magazine questions to ask the celebrities being interviewed.

Pitch for magazine

My magazine will be a pop magazine aimed at teenage boys ranging for the ages of 11-17, I chose this becasue there isn't many magazines that have this age as their audience and I believe it would work. I will be using a male model who is ver fashionable, I also chose this because fashionable people will then see the magazine and relate to it due to the person on the front cover having the same fashion sense as them.

Evaluation of pohtos

I chose these photos because they are pictures that show a day to day life of the school and show the learning environment, extra curricular and the chilled environment when the pupils dont have lessons. Also the students are all smartly dressed so it conveys a good image of the school aswell.
